What has been

This site hasn’t been maintained for more than two years as of 2009-03-11. I never managed to figure out where I want to go and what I’d want to show here. I haven’t done a lot recently, mostly due to me serving about a year and a half in the German Bundeswehr (= army. Very time-consuming, I can tell). Now my days are packed with work for university, where I study mathematics, »IT«, philosophy and sociology.

In the past (I feel strange writing in past tense, I don’t feel so old at all :)) I did some experiments with PHP, Java, Ruby (and Ruby on Rails) and the like. I did some pixel artworks (which weren’t so great—feel free to browse my pixel pics on flickr) for games available on mobile phones, drew a few sketches, wrote some »articles« and whatever web-savvy people do when they want to do stuff and show off in their late teens, I guess.

What’s yet to come

Well, I didn’t stop reading about web development and I’m really curious where »the web« is heading. You know, Web 2.0 and all this social stuff around. Web development has always interested me and I’d be glad to release a few working scripts/apps which take advantage of current technologies and development. I'm thinking OpenID, OpenSocial and the various API’s of flickr, del.icio.us, Twitter, Google and whatnot. Web folks tend to use lots of services recently, so there’s no need for me to develop my own gallery, blog etc.—all that could be easily grabbed from existing, well backed-up services out there. I’d like to have a working aggregator up and running until April.

Since I don’t have a lot of spare time (chances are it’s just an excuse for being lazy and not motivated) I won’t be able to publish anything fancy. Gone are the days of happy game development. Probably they’re not gone forever, I’ll see.

Where to go from here

Feel free to visit me on any of the following websites, contact me if you like, add me to your friends or »follow me«. You could also browse my stuff/-Folder where I used to frequently store all my pics and screenshots to share with friends on ICQ and IRC until early 2007. Today, there’s not much left besides all these old pics, a Java application and an old Win32 game written in BlitzBasic in Oct. 2001 which probably doesn’t even start due to it’s low full-screen resolution.
